Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at Auberge Eldo Inn, I aimed to evaluate the balance between luxury and value, especially given my penchant for eco-resorts. As a Canadian traveler, I appreciated the warm welcome from the staff, even though my hiking journey had me arriving early. They kindly allowed me to check in before the usual time, which is a big plus, especially after a long trek. The room was decent, featuring a flat-screen TV and complimentary Wi-Fi, but I did notice it could use some updates. It’s in a central location, right next to an A&W for quick meals, though the area felt a bit dated. A few hiccups occurred, like the hot water being out during my first afternoon there. I had to wait a while for it to return, which interrupted my much-needed nap. While the price was attractive, I would advise potential guests to weigh the pros and cons carefully. It suits those looking for basic accommodations, but may not meet the expectations of luxury travelers. Depending on your priorities, it could be a savvy choice for budget-minded adventurers or those just needing a place to rest before heading back out on the trails.
